Ideally located on the Queen’s Palace hill, in the heart of the historical
area of the upper town where each stone conjures up memories of times
gone by, Tsara Queen House overlooks the eclectic “Tana”.
Tsara Queen House is an exceptional haven where art of living
combines with exclusivity and where intimacy is the norm rather than an
exception....
Tsara Queen House is everything but a hotel, which is why you won’t see a visible sign when you reach the house, only a light touch
on the bell is required to announce yourself, as if you were dropping in on old
friends. Your next port of call is the living room, just a few steps away from the
entrance, setting the scene for a perfect and personalised welcome!
The moment you step inside, you have the soothing feeling of being at home, as if
Tsara Queen House were your own home away from home.
Accommodation
Built in the 1950s and recently renovated with eminent attention, the house spreads across 3 floors
and boasts an incredible loft under the roof top, 3 comfortable and astonishing
suites and 2 elegant rooms.
A grand flight of stairs runs up to the top floors….a huge expanse of space
enhanced by 9m ceiling height…
The light is fantastic thanks to the 18 square windows spectacularly aligned on the low wall. The
stairs reveal 3 superb suites of more than 50 sq m (The Soul Suite, The Serenity
Suite, The Spiritual Suite) and 2 rooms (The Suave Room, The Soft Room)
measuring approximately 30 m2 which truly allow you to nest in comfort.
The loft on the top floor is perfectly designed
without partition to enhance the refreshing “open space“ zen effect, where
everything is situated on the same level (room, living room, bathroom) without
forgetting one important detail: the stars shimmering overhead and forming a natural
starstudded canopy over this blissful haven!
The stylish arrangement, each time different, creates good vibes and unlocks your
senses, adding to the ethereal elegance of the house without ostentation.
Alongside this exquisite decoration, one will also admire the successful blend of
antique Madagascan furniture with more recent pieces, complemented by paintings
and art works, perfectly placed.
The suites offer a separate living room, a desk area and a large bathroom.
The rooms have their own bathrooms and equally offer a desk and living area.
The bathrooms, authentic and spacious, where light is ubiquitous, encourage you to
take some time off for yourself, inspiring the unrested traveler to unwind and simply
relax...
Amenities
Flat TV, WIFI, mini bar, safe, superioir household linen , bathrobes, amenities, duvets,

The House
On the ground-floor:
- the large living room with its hardwood flooring stands out because of its
majestic high ceilings. It remains comfortable and cosy, organised around the
fireplace and the piano, and leading directly onto the garden.
Vintage 30’s/40’s furniture carefully selected in Madagascar - or in Indonesia for
some of the older pieces - and elegant leather couches stand out against the
backdrop of the richly panelled wooden flooring. Local art work often leaves no
place for indifference while the overall impression enthuses serenity, an invitation to
unwind, engage in gentle debate, have a drink or a tea.... or simply live at your own
pace.
- the small smoking living-room is the ideal place for smokers to taste an excellent
cigar, giving direct access to the garden, in the shadow of the Araucaria pine tree.
Directly opposite, the library with its deep sofas naturally tempts you to just sit
back and “lounge”. The work desk is conveniently equipped with Wifi computer,
allowing you to stay in touch with the outside world.
The staff are all your dedicated
hosts, always on hand to provide personalised service with a smart balance of great
care and discretion: room attendants, housekeepers, chefs, waiters, chauffeurs,
gardener, luggage porters – all constantly living up to their shared motto of making
the impossible possible.
Aside from its warm ambiance and quiet atmosphere, Tsara Queen House’s
originality owes much to its atypic Basque architecture, making it totally unique and
unexpected in Tananarive and giving it a special aspirational quality.
An unobstructed and well preserved view takes centre stage with a contrast between
the peacefulness of the upper town and the lively decor of the lower downtown part
of the city, undoubtedly participating in creating the unique atmosphere that
permeates throughout any visit to this part of the city...
Dining
The restaurant space, with its audacious design trends, is more of a private area
with just a few tables for the happy few fortunate to awake their taste buds with
succulent pre-ordered meals and special menus elaborated according to their own
palate. The philosophy is a much appreciated personalised approach, generous,
using organic ingredients, topped with an elegant menu of fine wines… definitely a
unique experience to enjoy while the sun is still high or with the delicate help of
candlelight.
The Garden
The house is surrounded by a magnificent garden ending in a large wooden terrace
with long orange shimmers, the perfect spot to sip a glass of wine, enjoy a good book
or even take some time to... do absolutely nothing!
The garden has been carefully landscaped mixing palm trees, traveller’s tree,
Araucaria pine tree, spectacular "Birds of Paradise" flowers, azalea, lemongrass
and jasmine pepper … as you gaze out over the garden and quietly take in the
extraordinary city view and sacred hills offered by this secret place your heart fills
with pure delight.
